Film Policy: Shoots of Hindi movies, web series in pipeline

Raipur: New Chhattisgarh Film Policy, which had come into existence through a gazette notification published on February 4, 2022, has attracted frontline filmmakers of Bollywood and other nations to shoot films at various locations in the state. Eight films and web series are in the pipeline for the shooting in the state this year. Last year, 15 films and web series were shot here.Recently, filmmaker from New Zealand completed the shooting of a short film Medicine in the state. Film director Anurag Kashyap will shoot Hindi remake of Hollywood hit Kill Bill here. Shooting of Dhadak-2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sudhir Mishra’s web series on the backdrop of a 1975 emergency depicting the story of five-six individuals, Anubhav Sinha’s film based on a romantic love story and Ratna Sinha’s film based on family drama will be held this year. The teams of some of these projects have already visited different locations of Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Korba and Bhilai, said Gaurav Dwivedi, advisor to the CM. To create a film-friendly atmosphere in Chhattisgarh and change the state’s perception in terms of tourism, the state government has also announced financial subsidies to filmmakers and this has attracted them to explore rich locations, Dwivedi said.Aim of Film Policy are to provide benefits to local people — including artists, technicians and producer-directors associated with film industry. Under this film policy, provisions and incentives have been made for the production, filming of feature films, web series, TV serials and reality shows and documentary films. This will encourage private investment in the film sector.TNN
