IIIT-NR hosts tech fest; AI, machine learning discussed

Raipur: The regional event — DevFest 2023 was hosted by IIIT Naya Raipur — and conducted by Google Developers Group (GDG), Raipur on Saturday. The event included various keynote addresses, seminars and networking opportunities for more than 300 students, who participated from various academic institutes in this region.The Students Activity Center (SAC) at Institute, along with GDG Raipur coordinators executed the event. The inaugural session featured speeches by dignitaries, including Prof. K. G. Srinivasa, Dr. Rajarshi Mahapatra, and Dr. Punya Prasanna Paltani, who briefed participants about the various sessions.The event covered diverse tracks such as front-end and back-end development, Cloud, AI, and Machine Learning. Thirty-two speakers from across India shared insights and experiences. The back-end development track explored PostgreSQL, while the front-end track focused on the crucial interplay of testing and monitoring.In the Android development track, participants gained insights into Flutter animations using APIs. The ML and Data Science track covered advanced topics like building on Raspberry Pi, and the Cloud track delved into going server-less with Google Cloud.Director of IIIT-NR, Dr. Pradeep K. Sinha emphasized the significance of such events for students’ technical skills and societal upliftment. Assistant professor Dr. Manoj Kumar Majumder, was also present.
