, home minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, food minister Amarjeet Bhagat, and school education minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, former chief minister Dr Raman Singh and Raipur Mayor

Eijaz Dhebar

were among those present on the occasion. Judges, officials, and advocates of the High Court were also present.

Born in March 1961, Justice Goswami had earlier served as chief justice of Andhra Pradesh high court and the Sikkim high court.

Graduated in Economics (Hons) from Cotton College, Guwahati University in 1981, he obtained his LLB. Degree from Government Law College, Guwahati in 1985 and later primarily practiced on Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, and Service matters.

He was nominated as senior advocate by Guwahati high court in December 2004 and later appointed as additional judge of Guwahati high court in January 2011. He became a permanent judge with effect from November 2012.

Justice Goswami had sworn in as the new chief justice of the High Court of Sikkim in October 2019. He was transferred as chief justice of Andhra Pradesh high court on December 31, 2020, and took oath on January six, 2021.
