MP man killed in Raipur after feeding another dinner’s food to stray dog

RAIPUR: A 35-year-old man died after he was stabbed following an altercation over feeding a stray dog at an eatery in Raipur on Monday night.


The victim, identified as Shiv Prasad Dhruv (35), a resident of Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh, died on the spot. ASP Prashant Shukla said the incident began when Dhruv, a crane operator, arrived at the eatery on a two-wheeler along with two friends on Monday.

Dhruv, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, picked up a food plate belonging to one Pawan, who was having dinner, and fed the food to a dog.

This led to an argument, during which another man present at the spot, identified as Sagar, intervened to support Pawan. Following the altercation, Dhruv left the place with his two friends but returned after some time accompanied by three more persons on two motorcycles.

A heated argument broke out again between the two groups. In a fit of rage, Sagar allegedly stabbed Dhruv in the chest with a vegetable knife. As the knife pierced his heart, Dhruv died on the spot, the ASP said.

The attackers fled immediately after the incident.
