Woman crushed to death by truck in Raipur
Raipur: A 26-year-old woman died on the spot after being run over by a truck at the busy Telibandha Chowk in Raipur. The mishap occurred around 11:30 am.Initial inquiries suggest that the deceased, identified as L Tanya Reddy, a resident of Golden Sky Apartment, VIP Road, Raipur, was travelling from the Magneto Mall towards Telibandha Lake on her scooter when the accident took place.Telibandha police stated that as the traffic signal turned green, the truck moved ahead and its left wheel struck her scooter. Reportedly, the scooter entered the truck's blind spot, and the driver failed to notice it. As the truck proceeded, the scooter got trapped under the front, and Reddy was crushed under the rear wheels. The impact was such that a tyre ran over her head.The accident resulted in fatal injuries, with her skull and chest bones reportedly smashed. Police apprehended the truck driver, Rampravesh Kumar, 33.The accident caused a traffic congestion, which was later cleared by the police. A bag found at the scene suggests that Tanya may have been commuting to work.. The Telibandha police informed Tanya's family and sent her body for post-mortem examination.
