: A workshop on 'yoga and women's health' was organized to discuss the benefits of

yoga

in daily life. Experts said that starting yoga at a tender age can work wonders for girls and can be beneficial for her future life.

The workshop was organized by Raipur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society and Indian Menopausal Society, Raipur on the occasion of International Yoga Day where experts discussed the benefits of yoga. More than 200 women participated in the programme to overcome various disorders with the help of yoga.

Yoga expert Rajeev Choudhary, Professor and Head School of Studies in Physical Education, Dean Faculty of Physical Education Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University explained the importance of yoga in a woman's life. He also gave demonstration of various yoga poses and explained effects of yoga on women's health.

Experts from Raipur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society and Indian Menopause Society also gave lecture on the importance of yoga during various phases of woman's life. Dr Monica Pathak threw light on the importance of yoga in pregnancy.

Dr Sushma Verma explained how yoga can positively influence health of those belonging to menopausal age group. Menopause-related symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and fatigue negatively impact the quality of life of millions of women.
