VHP leader Pravin Togadia said this during his visit to Anand on Saturday.

Togadia, a known baiter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also said that in last two years progressive farmers have turned poor, their income has depleted and because of financial crisis they have started committing suicide.

Togadia, who held a meeting with retired agriculture scientists of

Anand Agriculture University

, at the residence of Dr Shailesh Shah on 80-foot road, urged the scientists to draw out a scheme which can uplift the conditions of farmers.

Talking to scientists, he said most illiterate farmers are yet to adapt to new technologies to increase their yield.

But the generation next is getting ready and it should be trained to switch over to organic farming and thereby increase their income.

“Once they are provided proper training they will not have to remain dependent on any chief minister or any prime minister,” he said, while adding that if he can address two lakh public gatherings for Ram temple, he can also do the same for the farming community.
