Three drown in Amreli

Rajkot: A man, his nephew, and his niece drowned in a river when they went to immerse Dashama idol in a village of Amreli district on Thursday. The deceased are identified as Kishor Dangar (45), his nephew Rajvir (17) and niece Goral (19).Police said that Kishor was working with the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). According to the police, the trio went to Lakhapadar village to immerse the idol of the goddess in the river. As they went deeper, they got caught in the river’s undercurrent and drowned. The locals rushed to save them and also informed ambulance and police. They were pulled out and taken to the hospital in Chalala where they were declared dead. tnn
