Two family members killed in Chotila road accident

Rajkot: An accident on the Ahmedabad highway in Chotila late Thursday evening claimed the lives of two members of a family and injured three others.The deceased are Sonali Thakor (28) and Ashish Thakor (16), residents of Narol in Ahmedabad. Those injured include Sonali's husband, Harshad Thakor (30), their three-year-old son Divyansh, and 29-year-old Kalpesh Thakor. The injured persons were rushed to a Rajkot hospital for treatment.According to Chotila police sub-inspector B N Diwan, the family was returning to Ahmedabad after visiting Chotila. The accident occurred when their car attempted to overtake a pickup van and hit it. The impact caused the car to crash into the rear of a truck parked inside a hotel compound.The accident caused a traffic jam, but police, aided by a crane, cleared the vehicles and reopened the road.
