123 marital disputes resolved in Ranchi DLSA’s 5-day drive

Ranchi: The five-day special drive conducted by the district legal service authority (DLSA), Ranchi, to resolve family disputes successfully disposed of 123 such cases. Notably, the drive was carried out from June 12 to 16 in all districts under the aegis of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).The DLSA informed that the disputes, including pending cases and pre-litigation quarrels, were related to divorce, restoration of marriages, adoption, maintenance, dowry, domestic violence and child protection. Most of the cases which came up during the drive were related to marital disputes.The special drive on family matters is held every quarter. This time, more than a hundred cases due to the ‘Mann ka Milan’ programme held from May 29 to June 14, the DLSA said.DLSA secretary Rakesh Ranjan said, “ The credit for the success of the special drive goes to the ‘Mann ka Milan’ campaign, which was the brainchild of high court judge-cum-executive chairman JHALSA Justice S Chandrashekhar. During the campaign, DLSA, Ranchi, conducted a door-to-door awareness programme about the advantages of mediation in remote areas of Ranchi. The step has started bearing fruits as more cases came up before the DLSA during the special drive on family matters.”
