Bokaro Woman Brutally Attacked with Boiling Oil After Resisting Molestation

Bokaro: Two men allegedly poured boiling oil on a woman in Giridih district after she resisted their molestation bid. The incident took place in a village late Sunday. The woman was admitted to the local sadar hospital with severe burn injuries, police said.

One accused in the incident was arrested, while hunt is underway to nab the other, police added.


Police said, “The woman runs a snack shop in her village. An FIR has been lodged in the matter. One accused, Uday Choudhary, was arrested, and efforts are underway to arrest the second accused, Manish Choudhary.”

The woman, in her statement to the police, said she was frying snacks at her shop when two men from a neighbouring village turned up. They allegedly harassed her. When she resisted, they poured boiling oil on her and fled. Locals took her to hospital.

“The woman’s family is dependent on the shop for its bread and butter. The two men have a history of misconduct. Steps must be taken against them. Locals are supporting her treatment,” former mukhiya of the village said.
