Yummy Tiffins is yet to receive payment. "I usually take breakfast, lunch and dinner orders of a large number of citizens residing in colonies of Hinoo and Doranda. Due to the ongoing money crisis and lack of Rs 10 or Rs 50 notes, I am unable to get enough cash in hand as payments. I am requesting customers to deposit the amount in my bank account," said the lady owner, requesting anonymity.
The situation is the same for another dabbawala Sanju, who delivers meals in Doranda.
Sanju
said,
"Some of my clients have started paying smaller denomination currency notes instead of Rs 500 or Rs 2,000 now. Those who cannot afford are being given the choice to pay later. Maintaining customer relations is more important than earning money in such situations."
Another dabbawala, providing meals to college students at, said he is has stopped taking orders for now.
Meanwhile, B Sinha, another tiffin provider at
Lalpur
, is unable to purchase vegetables for preparing the meals.
"Dikkat toh ho rahi hi hain, kisi tarah chala rahe hain business bolke (We are going through a difficult phase but we are managing somehow for the sake of business).
