Disgruntled JMM MLA makes U-turn

A day after threatening to quit JMM, MLA Lobin Hembrom on Sunday announced his support to CM Champai Soren ahead of Monday’s floor test.

He met party president Shibu Soren on Sunday morning. “I met Guru ji and explained my concerns to him. I will support Champai Soren in the floor test tomorrow. But there will be agitations if his govt does not implement The Chotanagpur Tenancy Act, Santhal Parganas Tenancy Act and Panchayat (Extension of Schedule Area) Act in the state,” he said.

Hembrom had criticised the leadership for appointing Champai as CM, a senior leader from Kolhan division, and ignoring MLAs from party bastion Santhal Pargana for the top job.
