Dumka Accident: Speeding Truck Kills E-rickshaw Driver, Injures Two on Deoghar Bypass

Dumka: One person was killed and two others were injured after a speeding truck hit two e-rickshaws and a motorbike on the Deoghar Bypass Circular Road late on Tuesday. The deceased man, the police said, was drivers of one of the e-rickshaws and was killed on the spot. However, his identity was not established till late Wednesday.

Another e-rickshaw driver, identified as Roshan Kumar, was admitted to Deoghar Sadar Hospital along with Santosh Kumar, a biker. While Roshan is a resident of Barmasia under Nagar police station area, Santosh is a resident of Supaul district in Bihar. One of Roshan’s legs was crushed in the accident. Both were later referred to a higher centre for treatment.

On receiving information, a team from Town police station reached the spot and seized the truck. However, the driver managed to flee. "CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined for further probe,” said an official at Town PS police officer, adding that the body was sent for postmortem examination.
