Entrepreneurs, professors welcome skill, fin-tech university announcements in budget
Jamshedpur: Entrepreneurs in Jamshedpur welcomed state finance minister Radha Krishana Kishore's budget announcement of setting up a Skill University and Fin-Tech University in the state.Owner of a manufacturing unit in Adityapur industrial area, Gyanendra Kumar said, "Opening of skill university is a right step for a state which holds 40% of the mineral wealth of the country along with big steel industries and vehicle manufacturing factories and ancillary units. There is a huge dearth of skilled workers in the Adityapur small scale hub, which can now be filled up. This will lead to better production in the coming years. More skill development colleges are the need of Jharkhand.""Job-oriented courses for students in state can faster economic growth not only for Jharkhand but other places where they get employed," said prof Shiv Jha, principal of another private engineering college.Along with this School of Business and Mass Communication institutes will be started in Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Palamu, Dhanbad, Hazaribag and Deoghar, Kishore announced. To ensure students get job-oriented education Kishore in his maiden budget promised five new colleges in Hazaribag, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Dumka and Palamu, which will provide legal studies and assist students to get good jobs after graduating from the institutes.Reacting to the budget, education minister and Ghatshila MLA Ramdas Soren said, "The amount sanctioned for school education and higher will be enough for development and other needs in the coming fiscal. I am extremely happy as all the promises made by INDIA bloc before polls will see the light of the day. Days are not far away when students from Jharkhand will hold top ranks in all-India level competitive exams, including the UPSC."Former state health minister and senior Congress leader Banna Gupta also hailed the promises made in the Abua Budget in the education sector. Gupta said, "Hemant 2.0 govt will transform Jharkhand into an educated state in coming years, where students after completing job-oriented courses will get good jobs both in private and govt sector."
