Garhwa couple dies of bee attack, son injured

GARHWA: A married couple died and their son sustained injuries after a swarm of bees attacked them on Thursday in

Jarhi village

under Dandai police station area in

Garhwa district

, police said on Friday.

The deceased include Nandu Paswan (57) and his wife Meena Devi (55). While Meena died on the spot, Nandu Paswan died at sadar hospital during treatment. Their

son Jitendra Kumar Paswan

(26) is currently admitted at sadar hospital.

Sources said Nandu, Meena and Jitendra had gone to collect firewood from a forest, along with some villagers. After collecting the firewood, they were having lunch under a tree when a swarm of bees attacked them.

The officer in-charge of Dandai police station, Vikash Kumar, said, “We have sent the two bodies for autopsies.”
