Rajiv Kumar’s bail plea rejected

Ranchi: The special PMLA court in Ranchi on Thursday rejected the bail petition of high court advocate Rajiv Kumar in connection with the recovery of Rs 50 lakh from him in Kolkata on July 31.Rajiv was nabbed by Kolkata police for accepting the money in lieu of withdrawal of a Public Interest Litigation in the Jharkhand high court against businessman Amit Agrawal. Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate had on August 10 registered a case against Kumar under PMLA Act.Rajiv who has secured bail from a lower court in Kolkata regarding the case registered by the local police was sent to jail in Ranchi in connection with the ED’s case. tnn
