Hazaribag: Two days after her husband died in a
road accident, two-month pregnant woman, succumbed to the injuries suffered in the accident, at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi on Saturday.
The deceased woman was identified as Jyoti, while her deceased husband was identified as Arun (30). They were residents of Tatgawan village in Hazaribag. They had got married seven months ago.
On Thursday, a speeding truck hit their bike on NH-522 near BDJJ Inter College, when they were heading to an exam centre, where the lady was scheduled to appear for her 4th-semester graduation exam.
Union minister Annapurna Devi and Barkatha MLA Amit Kumar Yadav visited the bereaved family and directed the Daru circle officer to ensure immediate compensation for the family members of the deceased. Police were asked to take strict legal action against the owner of the offending vehicle. MLA Yadav said the administration have been asked to provide all possible help to the elderly parents of both the deceased.
