HP Guv, CM greet people on Diwali

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of the hill state on the occasion of Diwali.

The governor, in his message, said Diwali was the festival of lights that symbolises joy, the triumph of good over evil and the dispelling of darkness with the light of optimism.

Shukla expressed hope that Diwali would bring abundant happiness, peace and prosperity to everyone across the state. He also urged everyone to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner to minimise pollution and preserve the environment. tnn
