Nadda says Sukhu govt won’t last a day if Centre stops financial aid

Kullu: BJP national president and Union health minister J P Nadda said on Friday that the Himachal Pradesh govt would not last a day if the Union govt stopped sending it financial aid.Addressing a gathering at his hometown, Bilaspur, Nadda said chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spoke in two tongues when it came to the Central aid. “When Sukhu is in Himachal or campaigning, he constantly complains about the lack of Central aid for the state. Yet when he visits Delhi, he thanks us for the assistance and requests even more,” the Union minister said, adding that: “Sukhu Ji, if the govt stops the financial aid, then the Himachal govt won’t last even a single day. “Each month, we allocate Rs 500 crore to the revenue deficit fund, which is what enables Himachal employees to receive their salaries. Additionally, it is only after we release a monthly grant of Rs 800 crore that retired employees receive their pensions,” said Nadda. Sharpening his attack, Nadda said Sukhu is the first chief minister of HP does not disburse salaries to employees on the first day of the month.While mentioning the rebellion that shook Congress earlier this year, Nadda said it was a disastrous govt in Himachal Pradesh. “What more can be disastrous for a govt whose 25% of the MLAs left? Your own people left you and you started blaming the BJP,” said Nadda.
