SHIMLA: While accepting the verdict given by voters in Himachal Pradesh Assembly election, BJP state president Suresh Kashyap said that BJP has won 12 seats in the Mandi parliamentary constituency out of total 17 assembly seats, from where Congress state president Pratibha Singh is currently a member of parliament and this shows that there was anger among the public towards the Congress.

He said that in Mandi district itself BJP has won nine seats out of total 10 seats.

Pratibha Singh had won the by-election from the Mandi parliamentary seat last year and then Congress had taken the lead from the majority of assembly seats.

In this election, Congress lost the election from Bharmaur assembly seat but won from Lahaul-Spiti assembly seat. Of the total 4 assembly seats of Kullu district it could win only from Kullu and Manali assembly seats.

Similarly, in Mandi district it could win only from Dharampur assembly seat while rest of 9 seats BJP has emerged victorious. Congress could win the Rampur seat by a narrow margin of a few hundred votes while it managed to win the Kinnaur assembly seat.

Suresh Kashyap said that if the vote percentage is looked at carefully, BJP got 43% votes and Congress got 43.9%, the difference was not much, it was a close fight. He said that 18, 14 530 votes have been cast in favour of BJP in the state. He said that historic victory has been given to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur by the public as he has won by a margin of 38128 votes from Seraj assembly seat.

He said that they are waiting for the guarantees given by Congress to be fulfilled and also waiting for the first cabinet meeting in which Congress will restore the old pension scheme (OPS) and also give 300 units of electricity free to the public. He said that Congress is talking about giving employment to 5 lakh youths and that too Congress is going to announce in the first cabinet, BJP is eagerly waiting for that cabinet meeting.
