MANALI: Dussehra festivities of
Kullu
are expected to give much-needed relief to traffic movement, which had been severely hit due to damaged and faulty bridges on the Beas.
Taking note of bridges, where traffic movement had been stopped for long,
forest and transport minister
Govind Singh Thakur on Monday ordered officials to repair the bridges before beginning of Dussehra festivities, which attract national and international tourists, in October.
Govind Thakur, who is also chairman of Dussehra Committee, said, "Kullu will witness huge crowd and traffic rush during entire October. I have directed public works department to repair Bhunter and Akhara bazaar bridges as soon as possible. Both the bridges would be open for traffic very soon."
