Surat: Two incidents of snatching have been reported in the city. Though both the incidents took place in May first week, the police complaints were filed only on Tuesday.
In the first incident that took place on May 2, two people on a bike snatched the purse of a woman near
Nathubhai
tower around 3.30am. The purse carried jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh. The woman, along with her husband and daughter, was going to the railway station.
The complaint was filed by
Bharat Kumar Shukla
(52) with Udhna police. Shukla, a native of UP, lives with his family at Sukh-Sagar residency in
Pandesara
and works in a factory. He was going to drop his family at the railway station.
In the second incident that took place on May 7, a mobile phone worth Rs 13,000 was snatched by a biker around 3.30pm from a 68-year-old retired school principal.
Mohammad Suleman Michla
, who lives with his family at Sutharvada in Rander, filed the complaint with
Rander
police.
