social media

and getting insulting news published in some local media about his previous employer institute. The accused shared the messages after he was was sacked from job due to insulting behaviour and objectionable attitude towards girl students.

Police booked Viral Patel, a resident of Paldi in Ahmedabad, for allegedly circulating defamatory messages against his previous employer. The accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 501 - printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory and The Information Technology Act. The complaint was lodged by

In his complaint the trustee alleged that the accused started sharing the defamatory messages over facebook and whatsapp from June 2017. The accused shared various messages including fear of threat to his life. The accused got some of the defamatory material published in the media as well.

“We are yet to find out that exactly how the accused shared defamatory messages in social media and got it published in media. With a plan to damage the complainant the accused shared the messages since he was fired from job as teacher for objectionable behaviour with girls,” said police.
