110 test positive for Covid-19 in Thane; tally rises to 1,463

THANE: The city recorded 110

Covid-19 positive cases

, marking the highest count so far and three deaths, in the span of 24 hours on Wednesday. Also, over 100 patients were discharged, highest single-day recovery rate so far.

The positive included 11 nurses from the state-run

Thane Civil hospital

“They were high risk contacts of the nurse who was tested positive earlier this week. These nurses are asymptomatic and are taking treatment in a separate ward at the hospital itself,” Kailash Pawar, civil surgeon at Thane Civil hospital.

The tally of positive patients is 1,463 and death toll is 57. Meanwhile the recovery rate was 39 per cent as 112 patients were discharged.

Out of the 110 that were detected positive most number of patients were from Lokamanya Nagar- Savarkar Nagar area as 24 per cent cases were from there.

Earlier the highest single-day count was of 94 positive patients which was recorded on May 16, simultaneously on that day the city had crossed the mark of 1,000 patients.
