Auto driver held for burglary in Thane

KALYAN: The

police in Kalyan have arrested an auto rickshaw driver who in day would used to ride auto and in night time would use to make burglary with other gang members.

The arrested driver so far in last 6 months has committed 4 burglary in one Bazarpeth police station’s jurisdiction and probing his role in crime happened into other neighbouring police station’s jurisdiction.

The police said arrested accused Ganesh Shinde (40), resident of

Baneli

area in Titwala has been working as auto rickshaw driver in Titwala and Kalyan area. However few months ago he came into contact of habitual criminal Sikandar alias Kiran Shah and one identified as Munna who is already into burglary.

, senior police inspector of Bazarpeth police station said, “After Shinde became friend with both accused who is on run he too got involved with them into burglary and he started helping them by keeping watch outside target home while both accused would use to make burglary”.

, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kalyan division of Thane police said, “Our team have seized Rs 2.25 lakh gold ornaments from arrested accused and hunt is on to nab remaining two accused”.
