'ISIS fighter drug' was to be exported

THANE: Investigators probing the seizure of ISIS fighter drug Tramadol found that the drug was manufactured at pharmaceutical company in Indore and the syndicate reportedly had plan to ship the consignment to various European countries as well as United States.


Pradeep Sharma, the senior inspector of the anti extortion cell informed that its a well-oiled cartel linked to overseas drug mafia. “We are investigating the facts,” said Sharma.

The accused have been identified as Mayur Mehta, 46, a Mumbai resident is the alleged transporter while Romil Vaz, 49, Byculla resident looks after the export, Deepak Kothari, 52, Ahmedabad is the investor and Santosh Pandey, Kudus resident is the manufacturer. “The 9,800 strips seized from Mehta was manufactured in Indore. It was found that Kothari had invested money for manufacturing the drug. Pandey has a office in Thane's Wagle Estate area US Pharma services 41, specially for the exports,” said a police officer.

“Kothari is a builder from Ahmedabad and it suspected there could be an unholy nexus of

drug peddling

,” said a cop.
