Maharashtra: Kalyan-Dombivli reports 2,405 Covid-19 patients, highest on a single day

KALYAN: The

Kalyan-Dombivli

city on Sunday reported highest 2,405 Covid-19 patients in a single day and 4 deaths taking the tally to 96,178 including 1,293 deaths so far.

The twin city on Sunday reported highest 898 cases from worst affected Kalyan (West) and 666 from second worst Dombivli (East) area.

On Sunday, 890 patients also got cured taking the number of those recovered to 78,740 while remaining 16,145 active patients are still undergoing treatment.

The relieving news is that even though the numbers of Covid-19 patients are rising regularly in twin city but local

Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation

has managed to control lowest mortality rate of 1.34% in

MMR

region by improving health services timely. Unexpected rising Covid-19 cases are worrying health officials.

Dr Vijay Suryawanshi, KDMC Commissioner said, "Presently we have capacity of beds that we can accommodate upto 3,000 patients daily but in case if numbers rise than we can face bed shortage, but we are continuously increasing our health facilities".
