THANE: NCP workers protested against the arrest of party leader and former minister Jitendra Awhad at the Vartak Nagar police station on Friday.
Maharashtra: NCP leader Jitendra Awhad arrested for assaulting businessman while stalling Marathi movie 'Har Har Mahadev'Jitendra Awhad was taken into custody for assaulting a businessman inside a multiplex and stalling a show of Marathi movie "Har Har Mahadev" on Tuesday.
The workers shouting slogans in support of Awhad even resisted a police vehicle to get out of the premises of the Vartak nagar police station.
It is learnt from the Thane police that Awhad will be produced in Thane court on Saturday. So, he will have to spend a night in police custody from Friday to Saturday.
