IMA seeks swift arrest of culprits

Thiruvananthapuram: IMA district president Dr GS Vijayakrishnan and secretary Dr A Althaf have urged the immediate arrest of those who vandalised the Royal Medicity Hospital in Parassala and assaulted the doctor and a nurse on Friday. They claimed that the alleged attack happened without any provocation while the main doctor was not present. “The incident is reprehensible and unjustifiable. Such attacks on hospitals are increasing in the state because criminals are being booked under frivolous charges and soon are released on bail. The government should be vigilant in this regard,” said the IMA officials.According to them, the relatives of a pregnant woman who was also diabetic, attacked the doctor and a nurse without any provocation. They claimed that the attack happened even after the patient was provided with adequate treatment. TNN
