to various locations in the capital for gathering evidence.

Ramees, who was sent to the agency’s custody for seven days last Tuesday, is being interrogated for the connections that he had in the capital, the locations where he had hatched the plot to sell the smuggled gold and if the gold smuggling network has extremist links.

Ramees was taken by the NIA team to various places in the capital, including to an the apartment near the secretariat where IAS officer M Sivasankar used to reside.

Ramees was also taken to the apartment where another key accused Swapna Suresh resided at Ambalamukku, the residence of Sandeep Nair and a hotel, where the accused are believed to have met and conspired.

Earlier, during the interrogation, Sivasankar had said that he did not know Ramees, though the latter was found to have travelled to Thiruvananthapuram several times.

Later, Ramees was taken to the police club at Peroorkada where he would spent the night.
