Man held on charges of murder bid

Thiruvananthapuram: Neyyar Dam police on Tuesday arrested a man for attempting to murder a fruit shopowner at Kallikadu.Another person who was with the accused, Rajeev (25) of Reshma Bhavan at Nellikkunnu Colony, is absconding after the incident, police said.The duo went to the shop at Kallikadu, run by Rajan (38) of Kunippara, to buy fruits. When they took two apples, Rajan reportedly told them to weigh it to tell its exact price. However, they started chewing it without weighing it and it led to an argument. Following it, Rajeev and the co-accused assaulted Rajan with an iron rod. tnn
