native, to decide on quitting her job and become an entrepreneur to manufacture of a complete bio-degradable sanitary pad named as “Ela Green”. The sanitary napkins manufactured with wood pulp and cotton is skin-friendly and does not pose difficulties like allergy, itching, pain or rashes. After being severely impacted by the pandemic, Sheeja is now introducing her green sanitary pads through an opportunity provided by Saras

coworkers about the plastic pads available in the market and the ramifications they cause, decided to bring some relief to women like herself and to others by bringing a skin-friendly pad to the market. The thought inspired her to quit the job at Technopark and start working towards creating bio-degradable pads at a small factory near her house. As the manufacturing cost for the product is high, she had to receive financial help from the

commerce department

to make her dream come true. “Saras Mela has given me a great opportunity to restart my dream project. A good number of people are visiting my stall after hearing about the product from various other sources. I have got a good response and the sale is happening more than expected. I would like to be a part of this mela if provided an opportunity again,” said Sheeja.Covid played a villain to sheeja’s startup and she had to helplessly watch the factory shutting down. Through the gala Saras mela, she is giving a life to her dream project. The marketing of the product is being done through the outlets of Karunya and Thriveni. The products are also being marketed through hospitals.
