Exhibition showcases ‘achievements’ of govt

Trichy: Minister for municipal administration K N Nehru inaugurated a govt exhibition at the Anna Stadium complex here on Thursday. Organised by the department of public relations, the exhibition showcases the achievements and welfare initiatives introduced during the DMK govt. The minister visited the stalls set up by 27 key departments to explain flagship schemes to the public. These schemes include initiatives such as the free bus ride scheme for women, 1,000 monthly stipend for girl students in govt schools, the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai, and the breakfast scheme for school students.The 45-day exhibition also includes entertainment activities such as cultural performances, sports equipment displays, and daily art performances, particularly aimed at engaging children. The exhibition is open daily from 4pm to 10pm. Entry fees are fixed at 15 for adults and 10 for children.District collector M Pradeep Kumar, police commissioner N Kamini, mayor Mu Anbazhagan and corporation commissioner R Saravanan were present.
