MP seeks special trains for Ramadan

Trichy: MDMK MP Durai Vaiko, has demanded Southern Railway to operate special trains to cater to the needs of people travelling home for Ramadan. The MP sought a special train between Tambaram and Trichy, and another between Karaikudi and Chennai Egmore on March 30 and 31, as the demand for trains due to overcrowding in buses is expected to increase for Ramadan festival coinciding with the weekend. Durai Vaiko sought the Karaikudi - Chennai Egmore special train to be operated via Pudukottai for the benefit of people from that district. The demands were submitted to divisional railway managers (DRMs) Trichy and Madurai railway divisions.
