Passenger arrested at Trichy airport for using fraudulent passport
Trichy: The Trichy city police arrested a 52-year-old passenger for travelling with a fraudulently procured passport.K Selvakumar, a resident of Nilakkottai in Dindigul district, was detained by the airport police after arriving in Trichy from Malaysia on an Air India Express flight late Thursday.During routine verification, immigration officer M N Pandey noticed discrepancies in Selvakumar's passport and conducted a detailed examination. It was found that Selvakumar had fraudulently falsified his date and place of birth to obtain the passport.Following a complaint from the immigration officer, the airport police registered a case against Selvakumar under relevant sections of the BNS and the Passports Act, 1967.
