Subsidy for small farmers to buy power tillers, weeding machines

Trichy: The state government has allocated funds for the purchase of power tillers and weeding machines under the All-Village Integrated Agriculture Development Programme. The Trichy collector has urged eligible farmers to make use of these beneficial schemes.As per the statement issued by collector M Pradeep Kumar, the government will provide a subsidy of Rs 85,000 to small, marginal, and women farmers for purchasing power tillers. Farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes will receive a subsidy of 1.19 lakh, while those interested in buying weeding machines will be granted a subsidy of 63,000.To avail of the subsidies, eligible farmers need to apply through the Uzhavan App and upload necessary documents such as land patta, chitta adangal, Aadhar card, front page copy of savings account passbook, certificates confirming their status as small, marginal, or community farmers, and a passport-size photograph.Farmers can approach the following assistant executive engineers (agri engineering) for further information and assistance: assistant executive engineer (agri engineering), number 2, Ponmalaipatti Road, Jail Corner, Trichy,Mobile Number: 9942112882;assistant executive engineer (agri engineering), Kannadasan Street, Parvathipuram, Musiri. Mobile Number: 9842435242In addition, the state government will also support small and marginal farmers in replacing their old motors for borewells by providing financial aid. A total of 160 farmers will receive 15,000 each for the replacement of low-power borewell motors. The government has allocated 24 lakh for this purpose. Farmers cultivating land below five acres and possessing pump sets are eligible to apply under this scheme.Farmers are advised to apply with the required documents to the aforementioned officials .
