Udaipur: Food and civil supplies minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas on Monday said 95% of the bureaucrats in Rajasthan are good and work for the state’s uplift but the state suffers because of the remaining 5%. Speaking about ACR (Annual Confidential Report) and the dominance of bureaucracy, Khachariyawas said power should not be centralised, but de-centralised. “For four years, I did not write ACR. I am always on the front foot when it comes to saving the government,” he said. “The state government’s beneficiary schemes should reach people. The bureaucrats should be instrumental in propagating the schemes to everyone in their region,” the minister said.
Khachariyawas while appreciating Ashok Gehlot said he is the only CM who increased the budget of MLAs from Rs 2.25 crore to to Rs 5 crore, which is equivalent to the budget of the MPs. “Former chief minister Sachin Pilot’s visit to my house denotes that power of Congress has increased further. There is no harm in our meeting,” he said.
Khachariyawas targeted leader of the Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria in the latter’s home constituency Udaipur and said Kataria on several occasions has said that that Congress ministers live in frustration, but Kataria himself is always in trouble.
