Assam guv Kataria starts 2nd ropeway at Neemuch Temple

Udaipur: Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria on Monday inaugurated the second ropeway project at Neemuch Mata Temple in Udaipur. The ropeway is expected to become the catalyst of tourism growth in the city of lakes.The ropeway is situated at the picturesque Fatehsagar Lake and connects Fatehsagar to the Neemuch Mata Temple situated on a hill. It is built on a PPP mode in collaboration with the Udaipur Development Agency (UDA) and Damodar Ropeways and Infra Ltd (DRIL). The project is built on an investment outlay of Rs 20 crore with a 25-year operation and maintenance lease.The Neemuch Mata ropeway spanning 430 metres is one of the most modern and sophisticated passenger ropeways in the country and will be yet another tourist attraction in lake city. The ropeway on a mono cable fixed grip system comprises of 12 ventilated cabins, each having capacity to carry six passengers at a time. It is designed with a capacity to transport 400 PPH (Passengers Per Hour). The maximum speed is 3.5 metres per second.The project involves four towers, with a maximum tower height of 24.5 metres. The ropeway is expected to provide both locals and tourists with a convenient and scenic mode of transport to the Neemuch Mata Temple.Aditya Chamaria, MD (DRIL) during the inauguration said that the ropeway marks the second ropeway project in Rajasthan and they are optimistic about the state’s remarkable prospects in tourism and infrastructure.
