Joint director of health dept held for taking ₹1.25L bribe

Udaipur: The Rajsamand unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday caught red-handed Dr Zulfiqar Ahmed Qazi, joint director of health department, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh.Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda, director general of ACB, said that the complainant had lodged a complaint with ACB Rajsamand. He alleged that Qazi was demanding a bribe in return for unsealing the sonography machine, returning the sonography register and refraining from further harassment. The complainant was repeatedly harassed by the accused, Meharda said.Under the supervision of deputy inspector general (ACB), Rajendra Prasad Goyal, ASP Himmat Singh Charan conducted a thorough verification of the complaint. Qazi was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh. The accused has been booked under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.The ACB team is interrogating the accused.

CBI arrests ED assistant director for accepting Rs 20 lakh bribe

CBI arrested Sandeep Singh, an Enforcement Directorate assistant director, for allegedly accepting a Rs 20 lakh bribe. Singh, who wasn't the investigating officer, claimed to be one and extorted money from a jeweller under investigation. A complaint triggered a CBI investigation, leading to Singh's arrest and suspension. ED commenced a money laundering probe against Singh.

CBI arrests EDs assistant director with Rs 20L bribe

The CBI arrested Enforcement Directorate (ED) assistant director Sandeep Singh for accepting a Rs 20 lakh bribe from a Mumbai jeweller, threatening to arrest his son in a money laundering case. The ED and CBI conducted searches at Singh's office and residence. Singh was suspended and repatriation to his parent department was initiated.

Village panchayat clerk held for taking bribe

A 56-year-old clerk from Kadakadappai village panchayat in Thanjavur was arrested for accepting a bribe of 1,250 for issuing a tax receipt related to house construction. The DVAC caught Anthonysamy red-handed while accepting the bribe. Officials confiscated around 50,000 from a storage room during the raid, and an investigation is ongoing.
