NEW DELHI: A Thai woman sustained a gunshot wound during her visit to Udaipur, police reported on Saturday.
Udaipur SP Yogesh Goel explained, "We received information from the hospital that a foreigner has sustained bullet injuries near her left armpit. On interrogation, we found that she is a Thai woman and had been staying in a hotel in Surajpol for the last 4-5 days with a friend."
According to the police, the woman left her hotel around 1-2am, telling her friend she was meeting someone else.
Around 5:30am, she was brought to Pacific Medical College’s emergency room by three to four unidentified men in a car.
"Since this was a medical-legal case, she was transferred to MVA Hospital after primary treatment. The bullet is still lodged in her, and she is receiving medical care," Goel added further.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify who the woman met that night.
"She is not cooperating much in the interrogation, but we are trying to gather information from her phone and by questioning her friend," Goel said.
