VADODARA: A Surat rural police vehicle mowed down a security guard on national highway-48 near
Kapurai chowkdi
late on Monday evening.
Police said that the vehicle of Kosamba police station was returning to Surat after completing bandobast duty at ‘Namaste Trump’ event in Ahmedabad. While passing by Kapurai chowkdi, the driver of the police vehicle knocked down Suresh Aadesiya (40) when the latter was crossing the road.
According to police, Aadesiya works as a security guard at a restaurant. “He had alighted from an auto-rickshaw and was crossing the road to reach the other side when the accident took place,” said a police official. Aadesiya, who lives on Ajwa Road, died on the spot.
Cops stopped Vishal Chaudhary stopped the vehicle and informed the police control room about the accident.
