VADODARA: Sleuths of anti-corruption bureau (
ACB
) arrested a taluka development officer on Tuesday morning for accepting bribe of Rs 24,000 from a civil contractor for approving his bills.
The accused Kamini Panchal had demanded 2% commission of the bill amount as bribe. According to the complainant, Panchal had earlier taken Rs 7,000 from him for sanctioning his bill of construction of a toilet in a village in Waghodiya taluka. However, as Panchal again demanded money for other bills, the contractor approached ACB with a complaint against Panchal.
ACB officials said that a team is interrogating her to ascertain whether any other person is involved beside her and another team will be searching her house at Anand.
