This yoga expert goes to Germany’s highest point to do 108 Surya Namaskars
VADODARA: A city-based artist and
Pravin Maripelly, who also teaches art at a city-based school and works as a yoga instructor, performed Surya Namaskars within 25 minutes at a height of 9,717 feet above sea level. When Maripelly reached the peak after trekking for 50 kilometre, the temperature was four degree Celsius.
“The trek was difficult due to which I took two days to reach at the top. Luckily, there was no problem of oxygen supply, but I had to finish Surya Namaskars as soon as possible because the weather changes very quickly at such height,” Maripelly told TOI over phone from Germany. Maripelly added that he performs 108 Surya Namaskars daily because of which he is now able to regulate his breathing.
Maripelly had achieved a similar feat last year by performing Surya Namaskars at the base camp of Mount Everest and at the base of Manimahesh Kailash peak in
“I want to perform 108 Surya Namaskars at the highest peaks of all countries of the world so that people know more about yoga and its benefits,” he said.
