Trains’ movement to be affected

Vadodara/Anand: Train traffic movement will remain affected due to remodelling work at Anand railway yard. According to officials of Vadodara railway division of Western Railway, the remodelling work will continue between September 30 and October 1. As many as eight MEMU trains running between Anand and coastal town Khambhat will remain cancelled from September 29 and October 1 due to the work in the yard. Similarly, 14 other trains will remain cancelled between September 30 and October 1. This includes Anand-Godhra-Anand MEMU special, Anand-Dakor-Anand MEMU special,Vadodara-Godhra MEMU special, Anand-Gandhinagar-Anand MEMU special, Ahmedabad-Anand-Ahmedabad MEMU special, and Ahmedabad-Anand MEMU special. On October 1, Vadodara-Ahmedabad MEMU special and Ahmedabad-Vadodara MEMU special apart from Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Ahmedabad Intercity Express will remain cancelled. Jamnagar-Vadodara-Jamnagar Intercity Express will be short-terminated at Ahmedabad station on October 1 and it will partially remain cancelled between Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Valsad-Ahmedabad-Valsad Gujarat Queen will be short-terminated at Vadodara and will remain partially cancelled between Vadodara and Ahmedabad.

3rd memu train on Vadodara to Dahod route

The Junior railways minister, Darshana Jardosh, flagged off a new memu train from Vadodara to Dahod. The train has a seating capacity of 950 people and can accommodate 1,100 standing passengers. It will benefit commuters traveling between Vadodara and Dahod in the morning and evening. The train will depart from Vadodara at 8.45 am and reach Dahod at 12:45 pm, with the return journey departing Dahod at 3.50 pm and reaching Vadodara at 7.55 pm. The train will make stops at various stations in both directions.

Shakurbasti-Mathura MEMU breaks through platform at Mathura junction

A Shakurbasti-Mathura MEMU train broke through the platform at Mathura junction after all passengers and crew had deboarded. The incident occurred at 10:48 pm and resulted in damage to the overhead electricity pole and the platform. No one was injured in the accident. The reason behind the incident is currently under investigation and the train was scheduled to depart for the national capital the following morning.

12 express trains cancelled for October

Due to interlocking and commissioning of the third line at Bapatla station, 12 express trains have been cancelled in Visakhapatnam for the month of October. The cancelled trains include Visakhapatnam-Tirupati double decker, Bhubaneswar-Tirupati special, and Visakhapatnam-Chennai super-fast. Dhanbad-Alleppy Bokaro express will be diverted to run via different stations. Stoppages at Tadepalligudem and Eluru have been cancelled. The extension of Sambalpur-Varanasi Express up to Visakhapatnam has been approved to enhance rail services in Odisha.
