VADODARA: In an attempt to create a new bridge, artists from India and

Sri Lanka

have come together on a common platform – ‘Barodagaman 2020’ – through which they will explore opportunities in the field of fine arts within and beyond the two neighbouring countries.

Ten artists including nine from Vadodara and one from Sri Lanka on Saturday displayed their art works at the exhibition hall of the famed Faculty of Fine Arts through preview of Barodgaman 2020, a travelling show which will next year at Sri Lanka.

The artists, all alumni of Faculty of Fine Arts, will be visiting art galleries, universities and the departments of fine arts apart from historical and cultural places in both the countries.

“It is for the first time that artists from Vadodara and Sri Lanka are collaborating for the exhibition,” said artist Dushyant Patel, adding that the exhibition has been curated by Poornima Weerasinghe from Sri Lanka.

between March 13 and March 15 and later travel to Alliance Francoise De Kandy,

between March 18 and April 17, next year.

“While nine artists from Vadodara will travel to Sri Lanka for the two exhibitions that will be hosted by the art galleries there, nine artists from Sri Lanka will also be travelling to India for a similar exhibition displaying their art works,” he said.

Apart from Patel, Sanjeewa Liyanage from Sri Lanka, Atul Mahajan, Krushnapriya Smart, Naishadh Jani, Prantik Chattopadhyay, Prabhakar Alok, Rahul Mukherjee, Sandip Pisalkar and Varun Cursetji are displaying around 60 of their art works including canvas paintings, wood cut prints, water colours, sculptures and other mediums through the exhibition.
