VARANASI:The district administration and health department has started a drive against clinics, nursing home and hospitals, which are being run by the doctors employed in provincial medical services. Some ultrasound centres and hospitals are also on radar for allegedly indulging in prenatal sex determination tests.
Chief medical officer VB Singh that the department has received a list of six clinics and nursing homes from the district administration so far. On the basis of the list, action started from Friday.On Friday, a team of health department and district administration officials led by
CMO
had raided a private nursing home in
Rathyatra
area, where they sealed its
OPD
on charges that it is being run by a couple, which is employed in provincial health services.
An FIR was lodged with
Sigra
police under section 419 and 420 of IPC and 15(2)(B) of Indian Medical Council Act against the couple. District magistrate
Vijay Kiran Anand
said that there had been specific complaint against the clinic after which the action was initiated.
