VARANASI: Amidst a high-voltage drama, counting of votes for Azamgarh Lok Sabha byelection started half an hour late than the scheduled time at Mandi Parishad campus in Belaisa area of Azamgarh district on Sunday.

The high-voltage drama started as Samajwadi Party candidate for Azamgarh bypoll Dharmendra Yadav accused Azamgarh administration of unlawfully stopping him from entering the counting centre.



Police said that Yadav wanted to go inside strong room, where EVMs were kept.

Cops guarding the area stopped him mentioning that they have not been ordered by senior officials to allow anyone.

After it, Yadav had an heated argument with police personnel there inside the counting venue.
