Cops arrest murder accused within 24 hours in lucknow

VARANASI: The police, working out a murder case within 24 hours, arrested the accused in Dubahar area of Ballia district on Monday. The police have also recovered the knife used in crime.

According to reports, a 52-year-old man Ashok Singh was allegedly murdered by his nephew Preetam Singh over a family dispute in Dubahar village on Sunday afternoon.

The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime. An FIR was lodged against him under section 302 of IPC.

Ballia SP Rajkaran Nayyar constituted several teams to nab the accused. A police team led by Dubahar SO Atul Kumar Mishra nabbed the accused from near the statue of Sant Ravidas in Dubahar area. The arrested person was sent to the jail.
