Varanasi: Union textile minister Piyush Goyal said that “for the first time, a unique exhibition, ‘My Sari, My Pride — Ek Virasat’, is going to be organised in Delhi to showcase 75 types of saris from across the country”.
Goyal was discussing the roadmap for the development of the textile industry with exporters and Tamil guests on the inaugural day of the two-day textile conclave organized as part of Kashi Tamil Sangamam on the board of cruise floating in the river Ganga here on Wednesday evening.
Goyal said, “Textile is such a sector that incorporates the culture of the entire country, whether it be Banarasi sari of Varanasi or Kanjivaram sari of Tamil Nadu.”
“Sari is an identity of our country,” said Goyal while adding that from December 16, an exhibition ‘May Sari, My Pride — Ek Virasat’ is going to be organized at Janpath in New Delhi.
